Thank you for your generous support of The Holding Frames. Your donations help us bring art-based healing programs to communities impacted by crisis, creating space for connection, grief, and hope. This Donor Policy explains how we handle donations, our refund policy, and how your contributions make an impact.
1. Our Mission and Use of Donations
The Holding Frames is dedicated to:
- Bringing communities together to create art and share care
- Deploying Holding Frames to communities in crisis
- Providing sustained healing art programming at no cost to communities
- Building long-term healing and connection across communities
2. Our Commitment to Inclusive Giving
The Holding Frames welcomes donations from all individuals, corporations, and foundations regardless of race, color, religion or creed, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity or national origin, marital or family status, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. We are equally committed to ensuring that the communities we serve receive our programs without discrimination of any kind. 3. Types of Donations
One-Time Donations
Single donations made through our website or other channels to support our general operations and programs.
Recurring Donations
Monthly or annual donations that provide sustained support for our ongoing programs. Recurring donors can modify or cancel at any time by contacting us.
Designated Donations
Donations made for a specific program, event, or community. We deeply value your intention and will make every effort to honor your designation.
When Redirection May Occur: In rare circumstances, we may need to redirect designated funds if we receive more funds than needed for the specific purpose, the designated program is cancelled or completed, or circumstances beyond our control prevent us from fulfilling the designation. If redirection is necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and use the funds as close to your original intent as possible. By making a designated donation, you acknowledge and consent to this policy.
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
We gratefully accept grants from donor-advised funds. DAF giving is available directly through our donation platform, GiveButter, which supports DAF transfers at checkout. You can also direct your DAF sponsor manually using our legal name (The Holding Frames, Inc.) and EIN (39-4841990). In-Kind Donations
Non-monetary donations such as art supplies, materials, or services. Please contact us at info@theholdingframes.org to discuss your contribution before sending materials.
Memorial and Tribute Gifts
Donations made in honor or memory of a loved one. We will acknowledge your gift and, if requested, notify the honoree or their family of your thoughtful contribution.
4. How Donations Are Used

- Program Delivery: Art supplies, materials, and resources for community events
- Frame Deployment: Shipping and delivery of Holding Frames to communities in crisis
- Facilitation: Training and compensating facilitators who lead healing arts sessions
- Community Support: Sustained healing art programming commitments to impacted communities
- Operations: Website maintenance, insurance, administrative costs, and organizational sustainability
- Growth: Expanding our reach to serve more communities

5. Donation Processing
Payment Methods
We accept donations via credit and debit cards, PayPal and other online payment platforms, checks mailed to our address, and bank transfers (contact us for details).
Payment Security
All online donations are processed through secure, PCI-compliant third-party payment processors. We do not store your complete credit card or banking information on our servers. Your financial information is encrypted and protected.
Donation Receipts
You will receive an email receipt immediately after making a donation. This receipt serves as acknowledgment of your gift and may be used for tax purposes. If you do not receive a receipt or need a duplicate, please contact us at info@theholdingframes.org.
6. Tax Deductibility
Your donation receipt will include our organization name and tax identification information, the donation amount and date, and a statement that no goods or services were provided in exchange for your donation (unless applicable).
7. Refund Policy
General Policy
All donations are final and non-refundable. By making a donation, you acknowledge that your contribution is a voluntary gift to support The Holding Frames' mission.
Exceptions
We will consider refund requests only in cases of processing errors resulting in an incorrect charge, duplicate charges for the same donation, or unauthorized transactions made without your authorization.
How to Request a Refund
If you believe you qualify for a refund, please contact us within 30 days of your donation at info@theholdingframes.org with your name, donation date, amount, reason for the request, and transaction confirmation or receipt. We will respond within 10 business days. Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 10–15 business days.
Recurring Donation Cancellation
Recurring donations can be cancelled at any time by contacting us at info@theholdingframes.org or managing your subscription through your payment platform. Cancellations take effect for the next scheduled donation. Previously processed donations are not refundable.
8. Donor Privacy and Recognition
Privacy

Recognition
We may recognize donors through acknowledgment on our website or in annual reports (with your permission), thank-you messages and impact updates, and invitations to special events or program updates. If you prefer to remain anonymous, please let us know when making your donation and we will honor your request.

- Know that your gift will be used for the purposes for which it was given
